Product Owner

Product Owner is accountable for the definition of new products and features in keeping with the Business Strategy as defined by the Product Strategy team and through feedback from existing and prospective customers. The Product Owner is also responsible for the effective management and prioritisation of defects and feature enhancements to ensure they are resolved at the right time; this will be through collaboration with various other roles within the business.


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

The key areas of accountability and responsibility revolve around maintaining a live view of how NVM's products are to be developed now and in the future. This view should not be limited by time, only by lack of demand.

Execution Management

  •       Ensuring product related queries and enhancement requests are answered in a timely manner and all aspects of the features or fixes in development are comprehensively explained in User Stories.  
  •       Collaborate with the development and test team to kick off and deliver User Stories.
  •       Attend regular initiative specific customer meetings to check trajectory and update on status.
  •       Attend daily "stand up" meetings with Development and Operations to capture latest status information on progress and answer any questions or provide guidance as required.
  •       Be available on an ad hoc basis to help unblock development, test or operational issues.
  •       Sign off completed stories.
  •       Attend and contribute to Sprint Planning sessions and Sprint Retrospectives to ensure full flow of information and ensure consensus of what each Sprint contains.
  • Work with the Head of Product Delivery and the Product Strategy team to ensure roadmaps are up to date based on weekly progress reviews.
  • Work closely with and Professional Services, Product Management, Marketing and Sales to ensure all collateral to support each release is in place (e.g. Data Sheets, Whitepapers, User Guides, Operational Guides etc.)
  • Visit customers on a regular basis to validate feature trajectory, capture enhancements and observe the product in live usage.
  • Work with the Product Strategy team to help build a network of customer contributors who will actively assist in the development of product ideas and form an early adopter programme for new features.

Key Performance Indicators

  •       Delivery as per the agreed or revised (at the PRB) roadmap.
  •       Relevant and prioritised stories representing the evolution of the NVM product set.
  •       Central point of contact for all product related queries
  •       Close customer and prospect engagement to ensure market and expectation parity and product freshness

Essential Experience Required

  •       Experience of product development and evolution in a complex software and infrastructure environment.
  •       Ability to facilitate multidisciplinary groups at all levels.
  •       An understanding and experience of working with Agile and Lean Software Development principles.
  •       Excellent customer facing skills with a focus on "drawing out" their needs and wishes.
  •       The proven ability, individually and collaboratively, to build meaningful and relevant product strategies.
  •       An avid team player.
  •       Excellent time management, communication, presentation, negotiation and decision making skills.
  •       Ability to analyse complex planning data and identify optimal solutions.
  •       Confidence to articulate sensitive status situations objectively.

Desirable Experience Required

  •       Current knowledge of call centre technologies and concepts.
  •       Familiarity with Cloud/SaaS business and execution models.
  •       Experience of Agile workflow tools (Jira/Greenhopper, PivotalTrakcker, Team Process etc.).
